A 97% win rate produced just $49 in median profit

We examined 151 complete, profitable Polymarket histories with at least 100 resolved markets and 60 days of activity. Of those, 123 won at least 90% of resolved markets.

123 of 151 won at least 90%

The median win rate inside that group was 97.7%, making a high percentage common rather than exceptional in this cohort.

99.42¢ median BUY price

The median share-weighted entry was already near certainty, leaving little upside on a correct resolution and almost the full entry exposed on a miss.

$49.37 median profit

Eighty-nine of the 123 high-win-rate histories made less than $100 in reconstructed resolved-market PnL.

Why the percentage misleads

At the median, a winning market added $0.44 while a losing market cost $1.70. Among the 119 high-win-rate wallets with at least one loss, 106 had an average loss larger than their average win.

Method

The snapshot was taken at 10:31 UTC on 11 August 2026. Every wallet had positive reconstructed net PnL, complete accounting, a completed full-history backfill, no truncated data, at least 100 resolved markets and at least 60 days of activity. The median history contained 142 resolved markets and spanned 292 days.

Important limits

The cohort contains profitable profiles that passed Conviction Lens publication and data-quality gates, not every Polymarket wallet. A high win rate is not evidence that a strategy is bad; it simply does not communicate entry price, payoff size or total profit. Historical analysis is not a recommendation.
